NEPSE has suspended the companies that were operating but failed to pay the fees till the third week of October. According to officials of NEPSE, trading of such companies will be suspended until they pay the dues.

According to Securities Exchange Regulation, companies listed in NEPSE should clear their renewal fees by the third week of October every year.

October 26: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has suspended the trading of 27 companies which failed to pay the annual renewal fees on time. Out of 116 companies listed in NEPSE, trading of 27 companies that are yet to pay the fees has been suspended from October 18.
NEPSE has suspended the companies that were operating but failed to pay the fees till the third week of October. According to officials of NEPSE, trading of such companies will be suspended until they pay the dues.
Many of the companies paid the renewal fee on October 18 after NEPSE suspended their trading that very day.
Meanwhile, Sumitra Manandhar Gurung, CEO of Mahila Sahayatra Micro Finance claimed that the company has already paid the renewal fee but the trading has been suspended without issuing any notice. NEPSE, on the other hand, stated that no amount has been received as renewal fee in the name of the company. According to Securities Exchange Regulation, companies listed in NEPSE should clear their renewal fees by the third week of October every year.
Under the regulation, NEPSE had informed all the listed companies to pay the renewal charge on August 28. Except five companies whose trading was suspended because of merger and acquisition, other 19 companies had not renewed the fees.
As per the Securities Exchange Regulation, 2050, the company having paid-up capital of Rs 10 million, Rs 10 million to Rs 50 million, and Rs 50 million to 100 million, and above Rs 100 million should pay annual renewal fee of Rs 15,000, Rs 25,000, Rs 35,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively.
