According to the Mahesh kafle, Chief of Revenue Department of KMC, renowned Malls of Kathmandu has tax overdue of Rs 1 billion above. He informs that Kathmandu Mall, a commercial building built by Employees Provident Fund has tax overdue of Rs 500 million. The mall has been repeatedly avoiding the call of KMC for tax payment; therefore, KMC has blocked all the facilities of the Mall.

Similarly, another renowned mall World Trade Centre at Tripureshwor, Kathmandu has not paid any tax to KMC since its establishment which has totalled Rs 100 million. KMC has blocked its services to WTC as well.

Likewise, Rastriya Naach Ghar at Jamal has tax overdue of Rs 60 million, Alfabeta at Baneshwor has tax overdue of Rs 10 million and Kathmandu Plaza has tax overdue of Rs 50 million. K.L. Tower, Kathmandu Business Park and CTC Mall have tax overdue as well.
