April 14: Kathmandu College of Management (KCM) is going to organise the 12th ‘KCM Inter College Music Competition’ (ICMC) as a part of the college’s annual program. According to a press statement by the organiser, the program is schedule to take place on April 15, 16 and 17 in association with Pran Frooto and Apache motorbikes. The preliminary rounds will take place for two days, 15 and 16 at the premises of KCM and the grand finale is scheduled to be held on 23rd April, 10 am onwards at Jawalakhel ground in Lalitpur. 

“The event has been giving a platform for college music enthusiasts to showcase their talents for the past eleven years,” reads the statement. 

As per the statement, each band can comprise a maximum of six band members. “Apart from the band members, a band may have a band manager and a sound engineer. A band has to perform a total of two songs, out of which, one must be a self-composed track. The competition is open for bands to perform both self-composed songs,” informs the KMC. Out of all the bands in the preliminary round, 10 bands will qualify to perform in the final round. “In case of a folk band, consideration can be made in terms of number of band members,” mentions the organiser.  The performances will be judge by the professional musicians and the elites of Nepali music scene.

The winner of the ICMC will be awarded with cash prize of Rs 50,000. Similarly, the first and second runners up will get Rs 25, 000 and Rs 15, 000 respectively. Likewise the judges’ favorite band will win Rs 10,000 and the crowds’ favorite will win Rs 5,000.
