SURKHET, August 11: The countdown for the 10th National Games, set to take place in Karnali Province from November 17-24, has officially begun, with 100 days remaining until the mega sports event.
Karnali Province, the host of the tournament, on Saturday unveiled a song specifically composed for the event. During the unveiling, Social Development Minister of Karnali Province, Ghanashyam Bhandari, encouraged the council and all associated sports organizations to prepare diligently to secure gold medals in the national games.
Minister Bhandari emphasized that while the country may be divided by politics, sports serve as a unifying force. He added that efforts are underway to demonstrate Karnali's competence in hosting such a significant event.
Minister Bhandari also directed the stadium construction company to ensure the timely completion of infrastructure work. Karnali State Sports Council Member-Secretary, Bishwamitra Sanjyal, reported that 90 percent of the stadium's construction has been completed.
"Within the next 100 days, we need to not only finish the infrastructure but also finalize all arrangements for accommodation and transportation," Sanjyal stated.
He also mentioned that 24 sports competitions are planned across Karnali, with infrastructure development in 10 districts progressing rapidly.
The logo and mascot of the competition will be unveiled in a few days. The song's lyrics were penned by Kshitij Samarpan, with music by Santosh Shrestha, and vocals by Santosh Shrestha, Durga Pariyar, Krishna Basyal, and Dhanmaya Rana. -- RSS
