KATHMANDU, August 7: Nepal defeated Iran in a competitive match to reach the final of the CAVA Women's Nations Volleyball League on Tuesday. Nepal defeated Iran in straight sets of 25-21, 28-26 and 25-20 in the semifinals held at the
National Sports Council’s Covered Hall in Tripureshwar to avenge its earlier defeat in the round-robin league.
Following the victory, Nepal will now face India in the final of the League at 5 PM today (Wednesday).
Earlier, Nepal and Iran had entered the semi-finals of the League securing second and third positions in the league stage, respectively.
Nepal's chief coach Jagdish Bhatta shared happiness saying that Nepal achieved success by learning lessons from past mistakes.
Prior to this, Iran had defeated Nepal by 3-2 sets in the second match of the league stage.
Earlier on Tuesday, India defeated Sri Lanka in the first semi-final in straight sets of 3-0. -- RSS
