KATHMANDU, August 6: Nepal defeated the Maldives to book a place in the semi-finals of the CAVA Women's Nations Volleyball League on Monday.    
Nepal defeated the Maldives in straight sets of 25-8, 25-19 and 25-18 in the last group-stage match held at the National Sports Council’s Covered Hall in Tripureshwar on Monday.    
Following the win, Nepal finished second in the points table and will now meet Iran in the semi-finals. Iran finished third in the points table.    
India and Sri Lanka will compete in the first semi-final. India topped the league while Sri Lanka finished fourth.    
The first semi-final between Sri Lanka and India will start at 3:00 pm today (Tuesday) at the same venue while Nepal will face Iran in the second semi-final starting at 5:15 pm. -- RSS
