NEPSE Sets New Record with Rs 21.91 Billion Turnover

July 31:  The Nepal Stock Exchange(NEPSE) set the new record with highest daily turnover of Rs 21.91 billion ever recorded in its history on Wednesday.

The secondary benchmark index saw a substantial gain of 64.25 points or 2.38%, closing at 2760.90 on the fourth trading day of the week on Wednesday.

During the trading session, 332 different securities were traded through 238,272 transactions, with a total of 50,967,951 shares exchanged. Today’s highest turnover was led by Himalayan Reinsurance Company Limited (HRL), which saw transactions totaling Rs 840 million.

Remarkably, eight companies, including Gurkhas Finance Limited (GUFL), Reliance Finance Limited (RLFL), and Shree Investment Finance Limited (SIFC), experienced a 10% increase, hitting the upper circuit.

 On the other hand, Civil Bank Debenture 2088 (CBLD88) incurred the largest loss, dropping 7.92% to a market price of Rs 1070 per share.

The Sensitive Index rose by 2.19%, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index increased by 2.28% and 2.05%, respectively.

All sector indices ended the day in positive territory, with the Finance Index recording the highest gain at 8.08%. The Microfinance Index saw the smallest increase, growing by 0.63%.
