July 31: On Shrawan 15, also known as "Kheer Khane Din" or the day for eating rice pudding, approximately 9 million liters of milk, worth Rs 650 million, were consumed across Nepal.
Nepal Dairy Association attributed the surge to the cultural tradition of preparing and eating kheer (rice pudding) on this particular day.
Every year, the government observes Shrawan 15 as Kheer Khane Din, encouraging people to enjoy this special dish.
The Association also organized a kheer-eating program to promote consumption of milk and dairy products.
The Association has been actively promoting dairy consumption due to the increasing stock of milk and dairy products, which has created challenges in paying farmers.
