July 26: The government has appointed new members to the National Planning Commission (NPC), including a new Vice-Chairperson. 

The appointments were made during a meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Thursday. 

Prof. Dr. Shivaraj Adhikari from the Palpa district has been appointed as the NPC Vice-Chairperson. Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Government Spokesperson Prithvi Subba Gurung informed government decision. 

Prof. Adhikari is an economics professor at Tribhuvan University.In addition to Prof. Adhikari, the Cabinet appointed several other members to the NPC. 

The new appointees are RP Bichha, Dr. Ramesh Prasad Singh, Dr. Prakash Kumar Shrestha, Gita Kumari Poudel Adhikari, Dr. Jaya Bahadur Tandon, and Ganga Dutta Awasthi.
