The incident occurred at 11:11 AM on Wednesday involving Saurya Airlines flight 9N-AME (CRJ 200).</span><br />

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal confirmed that 18 people lost their lives in the accident. The captain of the plane, 37-year-old Manish Shakya, survived but is injured and receiving treatment at KMC Hospital.<br />
<br />
A Bhutan Air flight, which had been held in the sky, has safely landed following the reopening of the airport.</span></span></p>
