July 7: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index saw an increase of 21.27 points, or 1.00%, closing at 2140.97 on the first trading day of the week on Sunday.
During today’s trading session, 325 scrips were traded through 80,838 transactions on NEPSE. A total of 14,014,622 units of shares were exchanged, resulting in a total turnover of Rs 6 billion.
NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN) led the turnover amount with total transactions of Rs 21 crores. CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited (CHDC) achieved the highest gain of 5.25%, closing at Rs 1078.80 per share.
Conversely, Mailung Khola Jal Vidhyut Company Limited (MKJC) incurred a loss of 10%, closing at a market price of Rs 661.50 per share.
In terms of sectoral performance, all sectors closed in green territory except for the Development Bank Index, Finance Index, and Trading Index. The Finance Index and Trading Index lost the most, with decreases of 2.07% and 2.23% respectively, while the Hotels and Tourism Index gained the most, with an increase of 2.96%.
