July 5: The construction of one of the two tunnels under construction at Lendanda along the Kathmandu-Tarai fast track has been completed. The Lendanda Tunnel, part of the Kathmandu-Tarai-Madhesh Expressway project, was successfully excavated on Thursday.
In the press statement, Nepal Army stated that excavation of one of the twin tube tunnels providing the passage of the vehicles from Nijgadh to Kathmandu at Package Number 2 located Bakaiya and Gadhi Rural Municipalities of Makawanpur has been completed.
The tunnel is 1,612 meters long. Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma observed the breakthrough of the tunnel.
Previously, on May 18, the 1,633-meter-long Lendanda Tunnel from Kathmandu to Nijgadh was completed. Additionally, the 1,653-meter-long twin tube tunnel of the Dhedre Tunnel from Nijgadh to Kathmandu was also excavated on May 25.
