June 19: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index saw a slight increase of 2.27 points, or 0.10%, closing at 2078.76 on Wednesday, the third trading day of the week.
During today’s trading session, 308 scrips were traded through 48,706 transactions. A total of 7,209,757 units of shares were exchanged, resulting in a total turnover of Rs 3.40 billion.
Nepal Finance Limited (NFS) led the market in terms of turnover, with total transactions worth Rs 20 crores. NFS also achieved the highest gain of the day at 9.99%, closing at Rs 724 per share.
Conversely, Manakamana Smart Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MKLB) experienced the largest loss, falling by 9.88% to settle at Rs 1460 per share.
In terms of sector performance, about half of the sectors closed in positive territory, while the remaining sectors ended in the red. The Banking Subindex, Finance Index, Hydropower Index, Microfinance Index, Non-Life Insurance Index, and Others Index all closed with gains.
On the other hand, the Development Index, Hotels and Tourism Index, Investment Index, Life Insurance Index, Manufacturing and Processing Index, Mutual Fund Index, and Trading Index saw declines.
The Finance Index recorded the highest gain among sector indices, rising by 2.62%, while the Trading Index suffered the most significant loss, dropping by 1.32%.
