June 18: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index fell by 18.76 points, closing at 2076.49 on Tuesday, the second trading day of the week. The trading day began with the NEPSE Index at 2,098.6 points, peaking at an intraday high of 2,099.02 points and dipping to a low of 2,073.91 points before closing at 2,076.49 points.
During today’s trading session, 318 scrips were traded through 58,119 transactions. As many as 9,544,734 units of shares changed their hands, relsuting into a total turnover of Rs 4.05 billion.
Samaj Laghubittya Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SAMAJ) hit the upper circuit limit, soaring by 10% to close at Rs. 2,409. In contrast, Manakamana Smart Lagubitta Bittiya Sanstha (MKLB) and Kutheli Bukhari Small Hydropower Limited(KBSH) experienced the highest declines, each dropping by 10%.
In terms of sector indices, all sector indices ended the day in negative territory. The "Banking Index" suffered the most, falling by 1.16%, while the "Manufacturing and Processing Index" recorded the smallest loss of 0.52%.
