June 6: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index witnessed a minimal loss of 1.93 points, or 0.09%, closing at 2,077.78 on the last trading day of the week on Thursday.
During today's trading session, 322 scrips were traded on the NEPSE through 59,650 transactions. A total of 8,813,374 units of shares changed hands, resulting in a total turnover of Rs. 4.38 billion.
NRN Development and Infrastructure Limited (NRN) led the turnover amount with a total transaction of Rs. 18 crore. Emerging Nepal Limited (ENL) and Mid Solu Hydropower Limited (MSHL) each gained 10% and hit the positive circuit for the day. Conversely, Mai Khola Hydropower Limited (MKHL) faced the highest loss at 6.40%, closing at a market price of Rs. 468 per share.
In terms of sector indices, a majority of sectors closed in negative territory, while the rest closed in the positive zone. The Banking Subindex, Development Bank Index, Finance Index, Life Insurance Index, Manufacturing and Processing Index, Mutual Fund, Non-Life Insurance, and Others Index closed in negative territory.
The Trading Index saw the highest gain at 1.96%, while the Finance Index lost the most at 2.08%.
