June 5: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index shed a minimal 5.58 points, or 0.26%, to close at 2,079.71 on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week.
During today's trading session, 306 scrips were traded through 49,733 transactions. A total of 8,042,767 units of shares changed hands, resulting in a total turnover of Rs 3.99 billion.
NRN Infrastructure and Development Fund Limited (NRN) led the turnover amount with a total transaction worth Rs 19 crore. Bhagawati Hydropower Development Company Limited (BGWT) gained 10% and hit the positive circuit for the day.
Conversely, Upper Lohore Khola Hydropower Limited Company (ULHC) incurred the maximum loss of 5.51%, closing at a market price of Rs 377 per share.
In terms of sector indices, all sectors closed in negative territory except for the Finance Index, Manufacturing and Processing Index, Microfinance Index, and Mutual Fund Index. The Investment Index remained neutral. The Mutual Fund Index gained the highest at 4.92%, while the Trading Index lost the maximum at 1.03%.
