KATHMANDU: Skal International Nepal, an association of travel and tourism professionals that encourages and creates a network of contacts around the world, organized a car rally from Kathmandu to Dapcha in Kavre last weekend with the objective of promoting the local heritage.
Issuing a recent statement, the association said that the rally that started from Kathmandu on Friday ended at Dapcha via Banepa, Panauti, and Namobuddha.
“The rally started from Lazimpat-based Dusit Princess after having a wonderful breakfast hosted by the hotel. The main host of the rally was Hotel Dusit Thani Himalayan Resort, Dhulikhel where all the participants were accommodated with lunch and dinner,” the statement reads.
According to the statement, the rally was attended by 36 participants (Skal members) using 25 vehicles.
The main objective of the car rally is to showcase the historical and medieval town of Dapcha to help preserve its dying heritage, added the statement.
An interaction program was also organized at Dusit Thani Himalayan resort, said the organisers.
