KATHMANDU: More than 90,000 foreign tourists entered Nepal in the month of May this year. According to the data released by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) on Sunday, a total of 90,211 foreign tourists visited the country in the review month.
The arrival of tourists has increased by 16.10 per cent this year compared to last year. During the corresponding period of last year, a total of 70,703 foreign tourists had visited Nepal.
NTB Director Maniraj Lamichhane said that the arrival of foreign tourists is encouraging. He said, "Overall, the arrival of tourists seems to be encouraging. Comparatively, although a large number of Indian and American tourists entered the country, the number of tourists from China has not increased as per the expectation."
According to NTB, 38,288 Indian tourists entered Nepal in May. Similarly, 8,381 Chinese tourists and 8,527 tourists from the United States visited Nepal. -- RSS
