June 2: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index gained 13.51 points, or 0.65%, closing at 2083.04 on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.
During today's trading session, 325 scrips were traded on NEPSE through 65,654 transactions. A total of 9,697,206 shares changed hands, resulting in a total turnover of Rs 4.31 billion.
Nepal Finance Limited (NFS) led the turnover amount with total transactions worth Rs 22 crores. Multipurpose Finance Company Limited (MPFL) and Makar Jitumaya Suri Hydropower Limited (MAKAR) each saw a 10% gain and hit the positive circuit for the day. Conversely, Narayani Development Bank Limited (NABBC) faced the highest loss of 9.13%, closing at a market price of Rs 577 per share.
In terms of sector indices, all sectors closed in positive territory except the Investment Index, Manufacturing and Processing Index, and Mutual Fund. The Trading Index witnessed the maximum gains of 6.56%, while the Manufacturing and Processing Index faced the biggest loss of 2.40%.
