Investment framework of Nijgadh International Airport to be finalized in next FY

KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Barshaman Pun unveiled plans to finalize the investment framework and preparatory work within the next fiscal year to construct the Nijgadh International Airport through a public-private partnership during the budget presentation for the financial year (FY) 2024/25.

Furthermore, Minister Pun announced in the budget that the construction of the second terminal building of Tribhuvan International Airport will commence. Additionally, it was stated that the Bharatpur Airport will be completed within the upcoming fiscal year, with an allocation of Rs 360 million for this purpose. Moreover, upgrades for airports in Surkhet, Rolpa Barichaur, Dang Tarigaon, Jumla, Dhangadhi, and Nepalgunj have been announced, with a total allocation of Rs 3.77 billion for civil aviation sector.
