KATHMANDU: The government has allocated Rs 2.98 billion for the Prime Minister Agriculture Modernization Project.
Finance Minister Barshman Pun said this while announcing the budget for the next fiscal year 081-82 on Tuesday.
The budget statement mentions that the government plans to expand fruit cultivation on 2,000 hectares of land in the highlands. Finance Minister Pun added that the government also plans to expand 14 government farms to produce at least 700,000 quality fruit saplings.
