Women make up 35.9% of the total number of medical doctors.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:20px"><span style="font-family:Calibri,"sans-serif"">During the same period, 122,313 nurses were registered with the Nepal Nursing Council. This includes 1,507 specialist nurses and 37,420 Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANM). The number of midwives registered is 66.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:20px"><span style="font-family:Calibri,"sans-serif"">In terms of healthcare workforce density, Nepal has 1.2 doctors and 2.83 nurses per 1,000 population. The Economic Survey also notes that 849 foreign nurses are currently working in Nepal.</span></span></p>
