May 24: The Birgunj Metropolitan City has spent Rs 1.74 billion during the first 10 months of the current fiscal year. The metropolitan city stated that it spent 52.7 percent of its budget in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year 2080/081 BS.

The total amount spent on capital expenditure is higher compared to the last fiscal year. The total budget allocated for the current fiscal year is Rs 3.46 billion. So far, the metropolitan city has spent Rs 1.34 billion on current expenditure and Rs 392.2 million on capital expenditure.

The metropolitan city also stated that revenue collection was not as estimated, but capital expenditure has slightly improved. The city collected Rs 398 million in revenue during the first 10 months of the current fiscal year. (RSS)
