May 14: The Nepal Stock Exchange(NEPSE) witnessed a substantial surge of 28.62 points, equivalent to 1.43%, closing at a 2027.51 on the third trading day of the week on Tuesday.

During today’s trading session, 320 scrips were traded on the NEPSE through 59,856 transactions. A total of 9,855,285 shares changed their hands resulting in a total turnover of Rs 4.8 billion.

CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited(CHDC) led the turnover with the total transaction of Rs 15 crores.

Samaj Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha(SAMAJ), Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited(ULBSL) and Unique Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited(UNLB) each gained 10% and hit the positive circuit for the day.

Conversely, Himalayan Urja Bikas Company Limited(HURJA) incurred the maximum loss of 4.64%, closing at a market price of Rs 290 per share.

In terms of sector indices, all sector closed in the positive territory. Microfinance Index and HydroPower Index recorded the highest gains at 3.44% and 3.22% respectively. Trading Index experienced the least gain of 0.03%.
