Finance Minister Assures for Prudent Tax Policy

May 13: Finance Minister Barshaman Pun said that there won't be arbitrary changes to the tax rate in the upcoming fiscal year's budget.

Pun stated that any adjustments to the tax rate will be made with careful consideration of national interests, rather than catering to interests of specific business houses.

Minister Pun assured that any changes would be accompanied by a clear rationale and would not disrupt long-term private sector investments.

Additionally, Pun highlighted the government's commitment to promoting open and transparent business policies and encouraging private sector participation in Nepal's development journey.

Minister Pun also addressed concerns regarding the slowdown in the construction sector, promising government efforts to address underlying issues causing the slowdown.

Moreover, Pun acknowledged the government's responsibility in addressing past financial liabilities, indicating readiness to manage liabilities amounting to around Rs 600 billion from previous years.
