May 10: Global IME Bank Limited has launched a comprehensive financial literacy program through its 169 branch offices. Under Corporate social responsibility, the bank has launched financial literacy programme targeting various groups of people outside financial reach.
More than 20,000 farmers, small, micro, and cottage entrepreneurs, laborers, potential individuals seeking foreign employment, students, women, recipients of remittance, and local youths are participating in the programmes in all seven provinces.
There was participation of more than 2,500 in Province 1, 2,000 in Madhes Province, 5,000 in Bagmati Province, 4,500 in Gandaki Province, 3,500 in Lumbini Province, 500 in Karnali Province, and more than 2,500 in Sudurpashchim Province.
Information related to savings, loans, remittances, digital banking, insurance, investment, additional banking services, financial fraud, and financial discipline is provided in the programmes.
Global IME Bank is the first commercial bank in the private sector to have a network of branches in all 77 districts of the country. In addition to its 354 branch offices, the bank also has 379 ATMs, 277 branchless banking services, 68 extensions, revenue collection counters, and 3 foreign representative offices, totaling more than 1,100 service centers.
