May 5: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index saw a loss of 1.23%, or 24.58 points, closing at 1,974.37 points on the first trading day of the week on Sunday.
During today’s trading session, 316 different stocks were traded on the NEPSE through 60,523 transactions. A total of shares traded amounted to 9,762,803 with a total turnover of Rs. 3.79 billion.
Nepal Finance Limited(NFS) led the turnover amount with the total transaction of Rs 12 crores.
Dolti Power Company Limited (DOLTI) showed the highest gain of 9.56%, followed by Sadhana Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SDLBSL) and Samata Gharelu Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SMATA) with a gain of 8.72% each.
On the contrary, People's Power Limited (PPL) incurred the maximum loss of 9.92%, closing at a market price of Rs. 554 per share.
In terms of sector indices, all sectors closed in the negative territory except Microfinance Index and Non-Life Insurance.
The "Microfinance Index" experienced the gain of 0.16%, while the "Development Bank Index" witnessed the highest decline of 2.65%.
