May 3: Nepal has imported betel leaves nearly worth  Rs 18 million in the past nine months. According to the statistics of the Department of Customs, Nepal has imported 75, 685 kilograms of betel leaves worth 18 million in the last nine months of the current fiscal year.

In comparison to the same period of the previous year, the import value of betel leaves decreased by 2 percent and the quantity by 16 percent.

During the same period last fiscal year, Nepal had imported 90, 794 kilograms of betel leaves worth Rs 19 million. Nepal imports betel leaves from India.
