April 22: The Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said that both the minimum and maximum temperatures in most parts of the country have increased in the past few days resulting in hotter days.
Issuing a special public bulletin on Monday, the department has asked one and all to remain cautious since the maximum temperature in some parts of Lumbini, Madesh and Sudurpaschim provinces was recorded at 40 degrees Celsius or more.
The department stated that excessive heat is likely for some days in the Tarai areas and has urged all to apply precautions or make necessary preparations.
"These areas could witness a heat wave from April 22 to 26. People are requested for needed precautions to keep themselves safe from the impact of the heat wave," the department's special bulletin states.
Likewise, the division has urged people to remain inside their homes in the day time when there is excessive heat, avoid traveling, cover their head while going out from home, wear cap, drink water and juice frequently, and stay in contact with the health workers in case of health issues. -- RSS
