April 22: Pathibhara temple, one of the country's holy shrines, welcomed more than 6,438 devotees, including foreigners, in a single day last Saturday.

The Pathibhara Area Development Committee attributed the surge in visitors to favorable weather conditions and the timing of Chaite Dashain. Typically, Saturdays and Tuesdays see higher numbers of devotees, according to officials.

Extra human resources had to be deployed for the management of the pilgrims on Saturday. The Committee reported a total of 168,468 worshippers in the temple throughout last year.
