April 7: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) experienced significant growth, with its index climbing by 22.75 points, or 1.13%, ultimately closing at 2026.81 on the first trading day of the week on Sunday.
Throughout today’s trading session, a total of 311 scrips were traded via 64,221 transactions on the NEPSE, amounting to a turnover of Rs 4.25 billion, with 11,210,102 shares changing hands.
The Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited Promoter Share (NRICP) dominated the transaction activity, accounting for a total turnover of Rs 95 crores. Four scrips—Nepal Finance Limited (NFS), Pokhara Finance Limited (PFL), Janaki Finance Limited (JFL), and Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (GLBSL)—each witnessed a 10% increase and hit the positive circuit for the day.
Conversely, Taragaon Regency Hotel Limited (TRH) incurred losses, dropping by 10% and hitting the negative circuit for the day, closing at Rs 792 per share. In terms of sector indices, all sector indices closed in the green territory except Trading Index and Hotels and Tourism index.
Finance Index saw the maximum gain at 5.95%, while Hotels and Tourism Index suffered the highest loss at 0.08%.
