Nepal Imports Millet Worth Over Rs 520 million

March 8: In the first seven months of the current fiscal year, Nepal imported millet worth more than Rs 520 million. According to data at the Department of Customs, Nepal imported 1, 07,17236 kilograms of millet grains worth Rs 52,75,08,000 from Shrawan to Magh.

During the same period of last fiscal year, Nepal imported 12217623 kilograms of millet grains. There has been a decrease of 12 percent in the quantity of grain imports, while the price of the millet grain has gone up by 17 percent compared to the same period last year.

Nepal has been importing millet from countries like China, India, etc. According to the statistics, the highest amount of grain imports in seven months is from India.

During the review period, Nepal imported 10721393 kilograms of grains worth Rs 52,76,68,000 from India. Similarly, the remaining amount was imported from China.
