March 7: The price of gold has set a new record in the domestic market of Nepal for the third straight day on Thursday. The price of the precious yellow metal increased by Rs 1500 per tola (11.66 grams) to reach an all-time high of Rs 125,000 per tola.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Association, hallmark gold is being trading at Rs 125,000 per tola in the domestic market against Rs 123,500 on Wednesday, which itself was a new record. On Tuesday, the price of gold was Rs 122,400 which was also a new record.
Prior to this, the price of gold had set a record reaching Rs 122,000 per tola on December 28, 2023. The Federation determines the price of gold and silver based on the price in the international market.
Similarly, the price of silver has also increased on Thursday. Silver is being trading at Rs 1,470 per tola, after the price increased by Rs 30 compared to Wednesday. Silver was traded at Rs 1,440 the previous day.
The price of gold has also increased in the international market. Gold is being trading at $2,153 per ounce in the international market on Thursday against $2,147 per ounce the previous day.
