February 27: Nepal Airlines Corporation has started Surkhet-Kalikot-Surkhet flights in its effort to serve the locals of remote areas of Karnali Province. NAC’s aircraft with call sign 9N-ABU took off from Surkhet to Kalikot on Monday.
The plane took off from Surkhet airport at 11 am and landed at Sunthrali airport in Kalikot at 11:20 am.
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Sudan Kirati had inaugurated the Sunthrali Airport in Kalikot.
The state-owned airline company informed that it will now operate flights to Kalikot as well as Humla, Jumla, Mugu and Dolpa from its base in Surkhet.
The NAC informed that it will operate flights to other districts of Karnali region in the near future.
