Revenue Worth Rs 790 Million Collected From Traffic Violators

February 7: Revenue totaling Rs 797.1 million was collected from road traffic violators nationwide during the first six months of the current fiscal year. 

The revenue was obtained through action taken against 1,052,055 drivers during this period. The significant portion of the revenue came from the Kathmandu Valley at Rs 322.2 million.

Similarly, Koshi province contributed Rs 78.7 million, Madhes Province had Rs 100.5 million, Bagmati Province  Rs 70.8 million, and Gandaki  Province Rs 81.8 million. Likewise,  Lumbini Province contributed Rs 93.8 million, Karnali Rs 15.6 million, and Sudurpaschim province Rs 24.2 million.

Furthermore, revenue was generated from various vehicle types.  Trucks/tankers generated Rs 151.9 million, buses/mini-buses contributed to Rs 92 million, and cars/jeeps/vans Rs 189 million.

Additionally, tractors generated Rs 28.8 million, motorbikes Rs 311.7 million, and tempos and other vehicles Rs 25.3 million.  Over 1.52 million vehicle drivers faced action during this period, with motorbike riders receiving the highest number of penalties for violating traffic rules, according to the Central Police News Room.
