Nepal Exports Kurmure, Lays, Cheese Balls worth Rs 80 Million in Six Months

January 30: Nepal exported potato chips and snacks such as Kurumure, Kurkure, Lays and cheese balls worth more than more than Rs 80 million in the first six months of the current fiscal year.

According to the data of the Department of Customs, Nepal exported 153,295 kilograms of Kurmure, Kurkure and cheese balls worth Rs 80,340,000 from mid-July to mid-January of the current fiscal year.

In the corresponding period of last fiscal year, Nepal had exported 50,144 kilograms of Kurumure, Kurukure, Lays and cheese balls worth Rs 20,079,086. The export of these packed food in the first six months of the current FY increased by 187 percent in terms of value and 205 percent in terms of quantity compared to the corresponding period of last FY.

Nepal exports Kurumure, Kurukure Lays and cheese balls to Bhutan, Italy, Australia, India, Israel, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Singapore, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Finland, Belgium, the United States of America among others.

During the review period, Nepal exported 68,881 kg of such items worth Rs 31,847,000 to Bhutan followed by 25,470 kg worth Rs 13,267,000 to Italy and 25,394 kg worth Rs 12,515,000 to Australia.
