January 28: Snowfall in highland areas of Sankhuwasabha district has adversely affected people's lives. The upper parts of the district witnessed snowfall since Friday evening.    
Daily activities have come to a halt temporarily following the heavy snowfall.

Grounds in the northern area of the district such as Kimathanka checkpoint, Makalu base camp, Tinjure Gufa Pokhari, Mangalbare are covered with a blanket of snow.    
Locals said that the snowfall continued till Sunday evening.

Cold has sharply increased in the highland due to snowfall especially affecting children, elderly people and cattle among others.    
The local residents have not been able to go out of their houses due to the biting cold. -- RSS
