January 7: Finance Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat has urged industrialists and entrepreneurs to free themselves from negative perspectives. He asserted country's economy is improving.
Inaugurating the 57th annual general meeting of the Chitwan Chamber of Commerce, Finance Minister laid emphasis on the need of doing business with positive thinking.
Mahat mentioned that foreign investors had started showing interest to invest in Nepal with positive sign of improvement in economy. Minister Mahat wondered, "How can country's economy improve if industrialists and entrepreneurs harbour negative thought."
Though problems of economy have not been resolved completely, there are now some improvements as compared to the past, he shared, admitting that country's economy is under pressure, not at problems.
He further argued, "The country's economy faced pressure after Nepal Rastra Bank imposed a strict monetary policy reasoning that banks invested in share market and real estate." The monetary policy is being relaxed gradually to ease the economic activities, Mahat said. (RSS)
