NEPSE Index Plummets by 8.71 Points to Close at 2049.28

January 4:  The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index experienced a decline of 8.71 points or 0.42%, concluding the week's last trading session at 2049.28 on Thursday.

During today's trading session, a total of 303 scrips were traded through 108,403 transactions. The total turnover amounted to Rs 5.58 billion, involving the exchange of 16,052,101 shares.

Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited (SONA) emerged as the frontrunner in terms of turnover, reaching Rs 33 crores. Remarkably, Kalika Power Company Limited (KPCL) and Singati Hydro Energy Limited (SHEL) each recorded a 10% gain, hitting the positive circuit for the day.

 In contrast, Siddhartha Premier Insurance Limited (SPIL) suffered the most significant loss, dropping by 6.56% and closing at a market price of Rs 769 per share.

In terms of sector indices, all sectors closed in negative territory, with the exception of the Hydropower Index, Investment Index, Mutual Fund, and Trading Index.

The Trading Index showed the highest gain at 2.34%, while Mutual Fund posted a minimal gain of 0.76%. On the downside, Others Index  incurred the maximum loss at 3.70%.
