January 4: A 4G service under Nepal telecommunications system has come into operation at Tanjkot rural municipality, a southern belt of Humla district from Tuesday. The area had been suffering communications problems for years for lack of reliable telephone and internet.
The locals here have been elated with the operation of 4G service. Rural municipality chair Lal Kesh Jaisi hoped the modern technology would facilitate daily administrative works of local levels. “The internet service will impact positively on public service delivery,” he viewed.
"The service seekers faced many problems for not having internet. The 4G service will facilitate not only communications but also education, health, social service, entertainment and exchange of ideas," he believed.
Moreover, Jaisi viewed the Tanjkot people will be connected to their relatives across the globe. Online services would also be availed with the new scheme in offices. Earlier, the people were forced to communicate with relatives by phone- that too on sunny days alone.
Officiating administrative officer at rural municipality, Rajendra Syangku, also said that the new facility would be for everyone's convenience. (RSS)
