January 2: The Nepal Exchange (NEPSE) Index experienced a significant downfall on the second trading day of the week, shedding 30.05 points or 1.45%, and closing at 2030.10 on Monday.
During today's trading session, 305 scrips were traded through a total of 85,435 transactions. The trading volume reached 11,185,712 units of shares, with total turnover amount standing at Rs 4.4 billion.
Chirkhawa Hydropower Limited (CKHL) emerged as the highest gainer, experiencing a 10% surge, reaching a market price of Rs 531.40 per share, triggering a positive circuit. Conversely, Himalayan Hydropower Limited (HHL) saw a 10% decline, closing at a market price of Rs 348.30 per share.
Examining sector indices, all indices closed in the red territory. The Hotels and Tourism Index suffered the most significant loss, plummeting by 3.21%, while the Others Index observed a comparatively modest drop of 0.19%.
The Sensitive Index took a dive of 1.18%, with the Float Index and Sensitive Index experiencing losses of 1.54% and 1.25%, respectively.
