December 24: The price of onion has decreased by 21 percent in one week.
According to the Kalimati Fruit and Vegetable Market Development Committee, the price of dry onion has decreased by 21.43 percent in a period of one week.
According to the committee, onion which was sold at an average price of Rs 140 per kg on December 17 is being sold at an average price of Rs 110 per kg on Sunday.
The supply of onion has also decreased in the last one week.
A total of 71,707 kg of onions were supplied to the Kalimati market on December 16, which dropped to 37,130 kg on Saturday (December 23). The supply of onions decreased by 48 percent on Saturday compared to last December 16.
Similarly, the price of large local tomatoes has remained stable at Rs 55 per kg compared to last week. However, the price of large tomatoes imported from India has decreased from Rs 85 per kg to Rs 75 per kg.
On the other hand, je price of small tomatoes produced in the domestic market has increased from Rs 12 to Rs 17 per kg.
The price of locally produced red potatoes has slightly decreased from Rs 35.67 to Rs 35 per kg while the price of red potatoes imported from India has increased from Rs 31 to Rs 33 per kg.
Similarly, the price of local carrot has increased from Rs 45 to Rs 55 per kg.
The price of cauliflower has increased from Rs 35 to Rs 40 per kg.
The price of local cabbage has increased from Rs 32 to Rs 34 per kg while that of cabbage produced in the Terai has dropped from Rs 32 to Rs 27 per kg.
The price of red radish has remained stable at Rs 17 per kg while that of white radish remains unchanged at Rs 12 per kg.
