Finance Minister Tells Youth to Make Best Use of Digital Platforms

December 24: Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has urged the youth force of the country to get involved in the digital platforms within the country instead of going abroad.

Inaugurating the 'CIN Youth Entrepreneur Forum Nepal Startup Fest 2023', Finance Minister Mahat said that if the young generation has the ability, imagination and dedication, they can do a lot through the digital platform.

The organisers of the programme that about 40 percent of the youth are connected to this sector.

“There is a trend of students going abroad after the 12th grade and it should be stopped,” said Minister Mahat, adding, “I request everyone to start working through this platform to stop the wave of going abroad after class 12.

Finance Minister Mahat said that the digital platform as given ample opportunities not only to business but to every sector. He said that those who are engaged in production can easily access the market through digital platform and increase their income at a low cost.

"This opportunity is available for everyone. It gives confidence to young entrepreneurs," he said.

The minister added that the government will enhance the IT policy in the coming days. "The government is ready to help the Nepalese youth in whatever field they want to work in. The government is ready to facilitate them."

He said that the information technology sector plays an important role in the economic development of Nepal and even now a large amount of software is exported abroad.

“Exports in the IT sector are increasing, and will increase even more in the coming days,” he added.
