December 20: The income of Nepal Airlines Corporation has more than doubled in the last three years.
According to the audit report of the Office of the Auditor General, the total income of the corporation in the fiscal year (FY) 2077/78 was Rs 9.1 billion.
Similarly, the income of the state-owned airline company increased to Rs 16.46 billion in the year 2078/79.The company’s income further increased to Rs 22.24 in the year 2079/80.
The records show that the NAC’s income increased by 144 percent in the last three years.
The NAC has four aircraft for international flights and two for domestic flights. The NAC claims that it succeeded in increasing its profit by making optimal use of the available aircraft and resources after the current leadership took over the management of the company.
The NAC further stated that it is making necessary action plan to purchase aircraft as it is facing shortage of airplanes in sufficient quantity to meet the market demand and to generate more income.
