December 19: The Nepal Stock Index (NEPSE) witnessed an impressive surge, gaining 45.98 points or 2.23% to reach a closing value of 2106.48 points on the third trading day of the week on Tuesday.
During today’s trading session, a total of 313 scrips were exchanged in 99,641 transactions, involving 16,457,138 shares. The cumulative trading volume amounted to Rs 5.98 billion.
Shivam Cements LTD (SHIVM) led in turnover with Rs 37 crores. Nine companies, including Bottlers Nepal Limited (BNL), Shivam Cements Limited (SHIVM), and Nepal Republic Media (NRM), each gained 10%, triggering positive circuit for the day.
On the flip side, Siddhartha Investment Growth Scheme (SIGS2) suffered the highest loss at 7.26%.
In terms of sector indices, all sectors closed the day in the green zone. The Hotels and Tourism Index experienced the highest gain at 6.94%, while the Finance Index saw the least gain at 0.42%.
