December 18: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed an impressive upward trend as its index surged by 38.14 points or 1.89%, reaching a closing value of 2060.49 on the second trading day of the week on Monday.
During today’s trading session, a total of 305 scrips were actively traded, involving 113,693 transactions and a substantial volume of 21,497,619 shares. The overall turnover for the day amounted to Rs 6.86 billion.
Himal Dolakha Hydropower Company Limited (HDHPC) dominated the trading floor with the highest turnover, reaching Rs 26 crores.
Notably, six companies, including Bottlers Nepal (BNL), Suryajyoti Life Insurance Company Limited (SJLIC), and Swarojgar Laghibitta Bittiya Sanstha (SLBBL), experienced a remarkable 10% gain, triggering positive circuit for the day.
Conversely, Himalayan Power Partners Limited (HPPL) faced the highest loss, recording a decline of 7.86%.
Examining the sectoral performance, all sectors closed in the green zone, with the Microfinance Index leading the gains at 5.53%. However, the HydroPower Index was an exception, incurring a minor loss of 0.33%.
