December 7: The Finance Committee under the House of Representatives (HoR) has directed the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) to submit the details relating to sale of Ncell shares with factual information within 15 days.
The committee enquired about the issue after calling the NTA for a discussion on Wednesday. After the discussion, the committee Chairperson Santosh Chalise said that the committee has asked the NTA to submit the details of factual information about the sale and purchase of Ncell shares in written within two weeks.
In the meeting, NTA Chairperson Purushottam Khanal shared that they received a letter from Ncell Axiata Limited, a private mobile service provider based in Nepal, that it would provide the details of sale and purchase of Ncell share soon as it was collecting documents in this regard.
"On December 1, the NTA had written to Ncell seeking details of the sale and purchase of its shares, and received the response from the company on December 5. The process of collecting related documents is underway and it would be submitted to the respective body in line with the existing laws of Nepal," he added.
Similarly, discussion was also held in the Public Accounts Committee about the purchase and sale of Ncell stakes on Wednesday. -- RSS
