December 3: Local authorities are preparing to make Changunarayan Municipality a disaster resilient municipality. The municipality has formed a quick response team at the ward level and prepared skilled human resources for the purpose. The skilled human resources have been trained to prepare 'one community, one first responder team' to declare the municipality a disaster-resilient municipality, said Mayor Jeevan Khatri.    
The municipality handed over basic search and rescue materials to each ward on Saturday. Disaster management programs and activities have been prioritized to minimize the loss of life and property caused by any disaster in the municipality. The municipality has also formed one ward, one rapid response team in addition to one community, one first responder team for disaster response.    
Chief Administrative Officer of Changunarayan Municipality, Chudamani Panthi informed that the Nexus Project has helped to provide the necessary materials for search and rescue to the municipality. He said that the municipality has also identified the disaster-prone areas and made necessary preparations to mitigate the risks.
