MOICS and Daayitwa signs MoU to Promote Innovation-led Economic Growth

November 24: Daayitwa, a non-profit, non-governmental organization working to promote domestic youth employment by enabling rural enterprises to create jobs in Nepal, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies to collaborate on issues related to economic growth and prosperity.

The MoU was signed by Arjun Sen Oli, under-secretary of MoICS, and Susit Dhakal, executive director of Daayitwa amid a recent programme.

Issuing a statement on Friday,  Daayitwa said, “This formal agreement marks a historic moment for institutionalizing youth voices in strengthening Nepal’s governance system.”
As per the agreement, both the parties will collaborate to research on issues related to youth employment, entrepreneurship and economic development, through programmes like the Daayitwa Nepal Public Policy Fellowship. It further states collaboration and scaling up of entrepreneurship development programmes such as Daayitwa’s Rural Enterprise Acceleration Program (REAP).

The agreement also mentions the capacity building of government officials affiliated to the Ministry, through organizations related to the Daayitwa Abhiyan.

MOICS Under Secretary Arjun Sen Oli stated, "This partnership is an excellent opportunity with a huge impact potential and promotes hopefulness and optimism.”

The organization believes that this step is an important milestone for Nepali youth and rural entrepreneurs to bolster innovation-led economic growth in Nepal. It also believes that the partnership will create a strong foundation for inclusive prosperity through collaboration between the government and the community.
