November 20: The Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) has solicited suggestions from its members in a bid to help address the existing economic crisis. The umbrella organization of the of Nepalese private sector demanded suggestions as a part of its national economic discourse.
A meeting presided over by FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal on October 12 had presented a proposal to the government seeking formation of a high-level mechanism to which Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal had responded affirmatively.
The FNCCI is gearing up for the next leg of discourse soon. A circular has been issued to its members in all districts asking them to furnish suggestions to the government on the next course of action to address the ongoing economic crisis.
The FNCCI then will compile and present a host of recommendations to the government for it to put in place private sector-friendly economic policies as well as to come up with resolutions to address the economic crisis. -- RSS
